Library Workshops

Library Instruction

DVC librarians collaborate with faculty to provide customized library instruction workshops that support students in developing essential research skills. Our workshops integrate critical thinking, source evaluation, and ethical information use to help students succeed in their coursework and beyond.

DVC librarians provide customized workshops to help students develop essential research skills, including:

  • Refining research topics & search strategies
  • Finding scholarly & popular sources
  • Evaluating credibility & relevance
  • Understanding citation & ethical information use

How to Schedule

Workshops take place during class time, or asynchronously on Canvas. To ensure a successful session:

✅ Schedule at least two weeks in advance
✅ Reserve a full class period
✅ Introduce the research assignment beforehand

Request a Library Workshop, and a librarian will confirm the details. Let’s collaborate to support your students’ success!
