About OER@DVC

OER@DVC is an award-winning initiative to expand access to open educational resources at Diablo Valley College.

Our mission is to advance equity and success for DVC students by eliminating textbook costs.

We are a workgroup of the DVC Academic Senate and are coordinated through the DVC Library.

Our Impact

OER@DVC was formed in 2019 to combat the rising cost of textbooks and expand access to high-quality, zero-cost learning materials for all students. Since then, our program has grown into a statewide leader in open education.

With over $2.2 million in grant funding and support from more than 200 faculty, OER@DVC has helped eliminate textbook costs in hundreds of course sections, saving students more than $9,469,960.
