This LibGuide is an exploration of the some most well known works of British authors from throughout the 19th century, and what extra meaning can be taken from them in relation to the lives of the people who wrote them.
It is my opinion that there is much you can learn about a work by looking at the real lives of their authors, and so I have provided links to these stories, all accessible at the DVC Pleasant Hill Library, along with Biographies of their authors. I have found that investigating and learning about these topics on my own has been greatly fulfilling, and hope others can gain such insights as well.
So I urge those who enjoy the works featured, or who are looking for a new classic book dive into, to explore the past with me and see the knowledge for yourself! Discovery is a wonderful journey!
